A Journey in Ireland

Because we like Ireland so much and we have taken a number of pictures during our last stay in June 2001, we thought it would be nice to share them on the web. I then decided that I would make a multimedia presentation with many features, some based (or even directly taken) from the features available at webshots.

There will be pictures of course, some short texts, maps and links and this photo gallery has many entrances.

Features

This button will allow you to open some pictures in full size format, JPG 1024x768.
Select the image, click your right button, choose either the SAVE AS WALLPAPER or the SAVE AS... to save the file wherever you want on your disk drive

This button will bring you on my webshots community space (http://community.webshots.com/user/sitatof) where you will be able to send the picture as an electronic card or save the picture in the webshots desktop.

Navigation

The easiest way of course is to browse from picture to picture as you would do in a normal gallery. Just start HERE and use these buttons to navigate.

You may also which to have an overview of all the pictures and you then have two possibilities

Interactive Map (I-Map)

Catalogue of thumbnails

There are 3 interactive maps for the 3 regions we have spent the most time; Kerry, Burren and Connemara. Theses maps are in Flash and require a Flash plugin.

There are 3 pages with all the thumbnails for all the regions we have seen: Kerry, Burren and Connemara. Click on any picture to display the larger version.

Important note: The sizes of these maps are 200-300 kb and they might take some time to load if you have a slow connection. I'm sorry about that but I really wanted to create these flash bits.

A lot of the celtic graphics used in these pages (background, buttons, knots) are from Aon Celtic Art. Some I had to modify and of course they don't look as good as the original versions. ©Cari Buwiak --> www.aon-celtic.com

Music

A short piece of music was taken from "Road to Lisdoonvarna" from the album Champions od Ireland - Harp", featuring Lynn Saoirse, Connoisseur records. --> www.crashedmusic.com
Another short chord is taken from Loreena McKennit --> www.quinlanroad.com

Map

I'm not quite sure I was allowed to copy portions of the Michelin map here... but now it's done. ---> www.viamichelin.com.
Talking about travelling, if you speak French the Guide du Routard is quite well done for Ireland. ---> www.routard.com
